Writing forward

I’ve met my fair share of bloggers who focus too much on writing back – they answer individually each and every critic that comes their way. It seems to me that these types of bloggers will not be satisfied until all the criticism or unfavorable opinion of them is answered/quashed.

I prefer bloggers who, instead, put more emphasis on writing forward – those who focus on the next topic or issue that comes their way. These types of bloggers seem to take past differences in opinion in stride, but make future ideas out of them without directly referring to whom it came from.

What defines the difference between the two? The first type focuses on personalities, and seems primarily driven by ego. The second type focuses on ideas, and is primarily driven by analysis.
